Woodfired cooking: Papa's pizza on Father's Day
After enjoying a welcome cuppa and pastry with your fellow classmates, your day will be filled with understanding the behaviors of different woodfired ovens, from a steel alfa to brick built bushman and stone back ovens. Discover the different wood that are used for these ovens and how to prepare and light your oven for the best results.
This 2 hour class is perfect for the little ones to treat Dad this Father's day. Join us in The Kitchen Garden here at Lainston House and learn the tips and tricks to create a traditional Neapolitan pizza. These will then be cooked on our woodfired ovens (and advice and best practice will be offered for cooking in your oven at home), before you sit down in the beautiful surroundings to enjoy a bottle of beer and some juice for the kids!
No need to be a cooking connoisseur here…the class is relaxed, fun, informative and interactive, suiting all abilities. Sharing an oven between two (if you come on your own we will pair you with a classmate), we will work together through the preparation and cooking of each dish, then you can enjoy the fruits of your labour, whilst our cleaning wizards do their magic and hey presto - your cooking station ready for the next dish!
