Discover Winchester

Just 10 minutes' drive from the city centre of Winchester, we're perfectly placed for you to explore this historic city or travel to us by train (especially being just 1hr from London!). The historic Cathedral is a must see, and for those literary fans, Jane Austen is buried there in the north aisle. The fascinating history of Winchester doesn't end there. Many years ago John Keats walked enjoyed a daily walk through the Cathedral Close and water meadows to St Cross. It was this walk that inspired his world famous ode 'To Autumn'. See link below for the walk so you can retrace his steps.

There's of course so much more you can explore in Winchester if history isn't your thing. The Science Centre makes for a great family day out and there's of course many wonderful boutiques, restaurants and cafes that are well worth a stop in. Take a peek on the Visit Winchester website link below for all the current goings on and ideas to build a Winchester visit into your stay.
