Ailsha and Luke

There was not a dry eye in the house when a magical prerecorded message for Luke was played moments before Alisha walked down the aisle

How did you meet and how did the proposal happen?

We met online and agreed to a first date at none other than Nando’s! Fast forward to our 5-year anniversary and at a much more romantic setting, Luke took me to Barbados during which we spent one evening having a 4 course candlelit dinner on the beach. Luke got down on one knee and asked the question I had been waiting for.

What did you love most about Pennyhill Park?

Pennyhill Park has always been a special place for me having shared many happy memories there and with Luke after us meeting. Whilst we always thought we would get married abroad, after Luke popping the question, I knew we had to go and look at Pennyhill Park as a potential wedding venue.

Upon visiting (again!) everything we loved about Pennyhill Park shone including the grounds and outdoor ceremony space along with the refurbished wedding wing. We knew that Pennyhill Park was the perfect venue for our wedding.

Did you have a theme or style in mind for your big day?

We kept to the natural beauty of Pennyhill Park which was important for us as it is why we fell in love with the venue. Our wedding theme was sage green and white which complimented both the outdoor and indoor space perfectly.

Tell us about the outfits.

I had a beautiful soft tulle gown with a fantastic corset bodice. I knew that I always wanted a veil, so I opted for a long lace cathedral style veil.

Luke and the groomsmen wore a black-tie tuxedo which looked very smart and suited the theme for our day.

What do you remember most about the day?

We both remembered the feeling of profound love for each other and our emotions about celebrating our union together it was hard to focus on anything else!

Were there any special moments or surprises?

I surprised with Luke with a pre-recorded message prior to me walking down the aisle needless to say there was not a dry eye during the wedding ceremony.

Our wedding co-ordinator Colleen knew Luke didn’t like wine or prosecco so had arranged for his flute to be filled with lager as she met us as husband and wife which he was incredibly grateful for. The his and her cocktail hour which we hosted for our guests was also a highlight for us all.

What tips or advice would you give to future couples?

Focus on what it is important to you as a couple, and everything will flow from there.

We did not have a wedding planner but our Pennyhill Park wedding coordinator was amazing. The service provided by Pennyhill Park we cannot speak more highly of as everything was perfect and all staff went above and beyond for us.
