Real Life Weddings at Royal Berkshire

How did you both meet and how did the proposal occur?

We both met on a night out in Henley-On-Thames. Shaun was very drunk and took three weeks to reply to my message on Facebook!

Shaun proposed on the beach in Dubai under a moonlit dinner. It was absolutely stunning.

What did you love most about Royal Berkshire?

We loved that we had the option of having the wedding inside or outside. Either option was still as beautiful as one another. All the other venues we visited didn’t have a nice inside ceremony. We also loved the grounds of the Royal Berkshire.

Did you have a theme or particular style for your day?

Not a theme as such but we had lots of sentimental tokens for our guests. Each guest had something special on their table which reminded us of them. We also had party bags for the children and personalised lovehearts for everyone with their names on them.

Tell us all about the dress...

My dress was the second I tried on. I must have tried on about 20 in one afternoon but every one I tried on afterwards I knew number 2 was the one. I purchased it from Queen Bee in Mapledurham

What do you remember most about the day itself?

Not much! It was such a whirlwind! The morning was very relaxed and then all of a sudden a rush at around 12pm. I just remember everyone saying how lovely the venue was and how happy everyone looked!

What tips or advice would you give to future couples?

For the bride I would say don’t leave everything to the last minute. Make sure you are not the last to get hair & make up done cause then you feel rushed getting into your dress and I didn’t even get a chance to look in the mirror.

And just enjoy it! don’t worry about seeing everyone cause the people who want to see you will come to you. they know its your day so spend it how you want it!
