Real Life Weddings at Royal Berkshire

We met 7 ½ years ago through Tinder, the dating app.

Dan organised a weekend getaway to Amsterdam in February 2020 where he popped the question on our way back to our hotel from a cocktail bar.

Royal Berkshire offered us everything we wanted in a venue. The beautiful grounds, the opportunities for guests to stay at the venue to make life easier, the help and support on hand from the staff from the moment we visited to the morning after.

We didn’t really have a theme, we just wanted it to represent us as a couple. Our colour scheme was dark forest green and white. We made it come to life by adding little bits of us in the finer details. From the table names of places we visited, to a sweet table, as Dan is a big Haribo fan, to the favours of Swiss chocolates to represent my home. 

The dress was a Justin Alexander design found at the wonderful bridal shop Debbie Rees in Wokingham. It was completely not what I thought I would wear for my wedding but as soon as I put it on I felt something different to other dresses, it also helped our first dance song was playing in the background, which definitely made me feel like I had a ‘moment’ in the dress!

Feeling so full of love and surrounded by people that love us.

Definitely the speeches. They were so heartfelt, personal, humorous and full of love for each other, friends and family.

Organisation and trust in the people you end up choosing to support you. Whether that is your florist, photographer, venue… trust them, they know what they are doing, as difficult as it might be to relinquish that control!
