Christmas Eve - 24th December- From 12 noon

On arrival we’ll greet you with a warming glass of spiced mulled wine and home-baked mince pies or some of our home-made mini gingerbread men for the kids.
Before you head up to you room - where you’ll discover your very own twinkling Christmas tree - take a moment to peek inside your personalised hidey-hole for small surprises, games and puzzles.

From 12noon

Festive afternoon tea will be served in our cosy lounges and The Camellia.

Throughout your stay

Our specially created family games room will be available and welcomes children and adults of all ages! The games room offers family board games, table football, Wii console, pool table, drawing materials, puzzles and table tennis.


You are officially invited to join our management team for a sparkling drinks reception to welcome you to South Lodge. 

From: 7pm

A local choir joins us to present a splendidly seasonal atmosphere as you take your seats for dinner and once you’re settled, enjoy the delights and mystery of our table magician. 

Choose to dine in either: 

The Pass: an eight-course Michelin starred tasting menu (£40 supplement per person)
The Camellia: your choice from our à la carte menu.

Wine selected by our Sommelier will be served with your meal whether dining in The Pass or The Camellia.
Dress Code: Lounge suits or your favourite Christmas jumper!                              

And for the children – don’t forget to stop by reception to collect your carrots for the reindeer and mince pies and milk to place by the fire, ready for Santa’s arrival at South Lodge.


For those who wish, transport to midnight services is available (pre-booking required) and we’ll welcome you back to the hotel with hot toddies and mince pies before you tiptoe off to bed to dream of what Santa might bring you!

Sunday 25th December - From 8am

Start the day with a full English country house breakfast served in The Camellia and linger over the promise of being spoiled all day long by our team!


There’s plenty of time to relax with your family and friends until the main event… 


Father Christmas will be making a special visit to our Drawing Room – pop by to enjoy a sparkling pre-lunch drink with chestnuts roasted on our fire to raise a toast to Christmas!

12.30pm - Christmas Day lunch

Lunch in The Camellia: a five-course traditional Christmas lunch with all the trimmings.
A half bottle of wine selected by our Sommelier will accompany your meal.
Dress Code: Lounge suits or your favourite Christmas jumper!


A chance for rest and relaxation – perhaps a stroll around the gardens, a visit to our in-house cinema or a sneaky snooze in front of the Queen’s speech at 3.00pm?


A relaxed evening lies ahead with a choice of board games for all to enjoy. All this fun will be accompanied by a mouth-watering spread on our South Lodge style buffet including cold cuts, soups and other delicious treats.

Boxing Day - 26th December - From 8am:

A leisurely breakfast starts your day in The Camellia.

From 10am

The morning is yours to do as you will but just in case you need a few suggestions, here are our top tips…

30 minute clay-pigeon shooting or archery lesson per family with a prize for the best shot. Spend time in the Christmas Family Area… or simply curl up on the sofa with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and read the paper!

(Pre booking required for shooting and archery)

From 1pm and into the afternoon:

Enjoy a relaxed carvery featuring fresh local produce.
Or if you would like to take in a panto just let us know and we can arrange tickets, transport and even a packed lunch for the performance of your choice – either Peter Pan at the Hawth Theatre in Crawley or Aladdin at The Capitol Theatre in Horsham.
The afternoon is all about leisure… get the kids out into the Boxing Day fresh air with a bike ride on our hotel bicycles or a walk around the grounds.  For the less energetic, while away the hours in front of a log fire with a good book, or visit our family cinema room to watch one of the movies being shown throughout your stay.

From 5pm

Our talented bar team will be on hand to help you in make your very own cocktail.

From 6pm:

Our Sommelier invites you to our beautifully restored Victorian wine cellar to sample a few of our 300 wines.

From 7pm:

A night at the Races!

Place your bets please... Let us bring you all the fun and thrills of a night at the races. Experience the raw excitement of a flutter on the horses and hold on for a nail-biting, action packed evening. A 3-course meal will be served during the evening accompanied by a ½ bottle of wine selected by our Sommelier.
