Autumn Safaris at Knepp Estate
Looking for a bit of adventure when you come to West Sussex? Just 15 minutes up the road from South Lodge, you could be heading out on safari at the stunning Knepp Estate. You'll get the chance to explore and learn more about their incredible rewilding project, along with seeing many delights autumn has to offer. Namely, it is the season of deer rutting, so with autumnal colours in full flow from berry-laden scrub and golden oaks, you'll get to see fallow bucks stage their rut and watch with awe as these great titans clash antlers. Not only will you be on the search for the stags during your visit, spying them from a dedicated deer hide, you'll also get to see the wonderful Tamworth pigs gorging on acorns and thrushes arriving for winter, then as dusk starts to fall, you'll likely hear the occasional hooting from the resident tawny owls.
