your adventure kit
We’re incredibly proud to have become a B Corp last year, always looking at ways we can positively impact people and the planet around us, and our adventure kit hopes to do exactly that! We have acres of grounds and areas of outstanding beauty around us, so we’re encouraging you to get outside and explore a little while you’re with us. Your gift includes top notch gear from some of our fellow B Corps to get you all kitted up for some adventure. When you arrive it will be waiting for you: A Madlug rucksack, Ocean Bottle water bottles, Marvellous Maps Adventure map and iron rations from Montezuma’s!book a stay
We’re mad about the Madlug ECO backpack, it’s going to make you feel good all round! Not only is it made of the equivalent of 12 recycled plastic bottles, but for every bag they sell – including yours – they gift a pack-away travel bag to a child in care. Madlug was set up in response to learning most children in care have no choice but to pack their worldly belongings in a bin bag. By setting up a ‘buy one, give one’ approach, children in care receive an unbranded bag to avoid stigma, with the label ‘You are incredible’ to remind every child that they have value, worth and dignity.
This is a bottle on a mission! Ocean Bottle is determined to change waste management, for every reusable bottle sold they fund the collection of 1000 ocean-bound plastic bottles in weight, creating sustainable living for people in coastal communities. Together they are not only keeping plastic out of the oceans, but they also recycle the collected plastic into something new. So it’s not just a win-win situation, it’s a win-win-win and we’re delighted to support them.
The fabulous folk at Marvellous Maps bring you the Great British Adventure Map as your inspirational guide of wild places, viewpoints, eccentric events and more, not only around our hotels but the whole of Britain! “Chronically chuffed to be a B Corp”, the feel good factor of Marvellous Maps comes from them taking their responsibility seriously, both in minimising their environmental impact and actively supporting three British environmental charities; Surfers Against Sewage, The John Muir Trust and Trees for Life. So pull out your map and see where you fancy exploring first.
Our friends at Montezuma’s are not certified just yet but they are well on their way and already have such outstanding environmental and sustainable credentials we couldn’t leave them out. Plus we wanted to bring you a little bit of ‘Happiness’ in the form of their fantastic chocolate! They use only the very best ethical cocoa sourced from plantations that meet their strict ‘Trading Fairly Policy’ and support Children on the Edge, a charity who work tirelessly for the most marginalised children, in some of the toughest situations.
