Barbecue masterclass: Smokehouse
After enjoying a welcome cuppa and pastry with your fellow classmates, your day will be filled with selecting fresh, seasonal veggies from our kitchen garden, discovering top tips on preparing and lighting your barbecue, and learning how to master smoking techniques, and how even using different sized wood chips can impact the flavour of your dishes.
It’s all about the preparation and taking it low and slow when it comes to the technique of smoking. Under the guidance of our expert chef, you will learn all about how selecting the right wood and using the correct techniques can really elevate your food to the next level. The varied menu for the day includes local brewed Flower Pot Beer chicken, pork belly burnt ends with garden rhubarb sauce and Chalk Stream trout cooked on a cedar plank and more.
No need to be a cooking connoisseur here…the class is relaxed, fun, informative and interactive, suiting all abilities. Sharing a Weber barbecue between two (if you come on your own we will pair you with a classmate), we will work together through the preparation and cooking of each dish, then you can enjoy the fruits of your labour, whilst our cleaning wizards do their magic and hey presto - your cooking station ready for the next dish!
