Woodfired cooking: Shellfish on the fire
After enjoying a welcome cuppa and pastry with your fellow classmates, your day will be filled with top tips on cooking shellfish in a woodfired oven as well as learning where to find the best ingredients and how to prepare them.
Learn from our talented chefs how to create some delicious shellfish dishes in a woodfired oven. It’s all about the preparation and lighting of the oven, understanding the behaviours of it and therefore what to cook in which part of the oven and at what time. The temperature and cooking duration is crucial none more so when cooking shellfish. You will leave our outdoor kitchen and head back to yours with the confidence and knowledge to re-create the dishes you have learnt including mussels steamed in local cider and scallops served with gremolata.
No need to be a cooking connoisseur here…the class is relaxed, fun, informative and interactive, suiting all abilities. Sharing an oven between two (if you come on your own we will pair you with a classmate), we will work together through the preparation and cooking of each dish, then you can enjoy the fruits of your labour, whilst our cleaning wizards do their magic and hey presto - your cooking station ready for the next dish!
