Discover Pennyhill Park

Discover Pennyhill Park

As you meander up the winding drive towards Pennyhill Park, you could be excused for thinking you were deep in the countryside rather than just a few minutes from the motorway.  Nature engulfs the landscape with stunning rhododendrons, ornamental cherry trees, and an abundance of bulbs shining at springtime in the 120 acres of rolling grounds all around, well - with the exception of the pristine professional rugby pitch designed specifically for the RFU of course!

take a seat and enjoy the view

There is so much space for relaxing at Pennyhill Park, the Lily Pond Terrace is the perfect spot for your first sit down.  Sip your favourite tipple and enjoy a light snack with your face in the sun while the stresses of life melt away.  During the day the woodfired oven is stoked to cook seasonal dishes like flatbreads topped with the freshest just picked ingredients, a delicious afternoon snack.  Once you are sated maybe take a stroll through the kitchen garden to see where your lunch was grown, into the woodland walk and through the open fields to breathe in fresh air and ensure you are totally calmed to enjoy your stay.

Another top spot for chilling out is, of course, The Spa.  With eight indoor and outdoor pools, 10 thermal cabins, a tepidarium, quiet lounge and sensory room, experience showers, drench buckets and foot spas amongst the experiences to indulge in; you are spoilt for choice as to what to do first.  The ultimate experience can be found in a private treatment room with our exceptional therapists who are skilled in massage, facials, scrubs and wraps to bring your body to peak condition. If you prefer to be together with your loved one choose a double treatment room to enjoy the therapies together and then perhaps spend time in the Mud Room for the essential couples’ experience.

When you are all ‘relaxed out’ and ready for a bit of ‘get up and go’ head to the gym for an energetic workout with state-of-the-art Technogym equipment, join a spin or yoga class, or grab a tennis racket and head out to the courts for a run around. Burn off some energy and work up an appetite!

Refreshed and ready for a new day it’s time for a hearty breakfast before getting out and about the local area.  If culture is the order of the day, steep yourselves in royal history with a visit to Windsor Castle, see if the flag is flying with Her Majesty in residence and take a stroll in the surrounding Great Park with its famous avenue approach to the castle and acres of grounds to explore, a delightful spot for a midday picnic.  Or visit Hampton Court to immerse yourselves in royalty of a different era, the palace is amazing and the gardens by the banks of the Thames are outstanding. Both are well worth a visit and just a short drive away.  If the kids are with you and fun and frolics are more the order of the day take a trip to Legoland, Chessington World of Adventures or Thorpe Park, thrills and spills for children of all ages! Or if you prefer a more gentle approach a visit to a local garden for a natural way to relax, Kew Gardens and RHS Garden Wisley fulfil this suggestion to a tee!

After a day of sightseeing return to the hotel ready for a couple of drinks and another fabulous dinner.  This time in Hillfield, our relaxed and informal, bright and open restaurant and bar offers drinks and menus from the surrounding countryside of the Surrey Hills. Order a cocktail or two before taking the weight off your feet over dinner. Dishes are lovingly made with hyper-local ingredients, either from the kitchen garden or local artisan producers, crafted by the team headed up by Chef Lewis Russell, who believes in and fulfils a farm to fork, nose to tail philosophy in his cooking.  A genuine contrast to the fine dining of Latymer but truly sensational in its own right.
