Real Life Wedding at Lainston House

Tell us a little about how you met and the proposal...

We both met online and being on Bumble, it means that Jane made the first move... However, the proposal in Paris was totally magical and Ben popped the question one evening after dinner! We both love Paris and it will always hold such fond memories for us.

What did you love about Lainston House?

The grounds at Lainston House are absolutely stunning! We really wanted to get married outside and it was the most perfect setting amongst all of the beautiful trees.

Did you have a theme or particular style for your day?

We wanted to keep the theme very fresh and classic so we went for green and white with a touch of gold. The scenery at Lainston House speaks for itself, you don’t need to add much to make it stand out any more than it already does!

Tell us about the dress...

I absolutely loved my wedding dress and wish I could wear it all the time! It was a warm day, so the style of dress definitely helped to keep me cool. I loved every second of being in my dress and really felt like a princess for the day.

What do you remember most about the day itself?

Honestly, the weather and the staff. The weather was gorgeous and of course meant that we could get married outside.

The staff on the build up to the wedding and on the wedding day itself were nothing short of amazing. We didn’t have to worry about a thing and we were so taken care of at every single part of the day. The staff really did make the wedding and we can’t thank Sophie, Lewis and Roberto enough in particular for all of their amazing and hard work.

Were there any special moments or surprises?

As small as it sounds, we didn’t realise that the big barn doors in the Dawley Barn could be opened throughout the duration of the wedding breakfast and we were delighted that they could be! We had them open the whole time and it really brought the outside in.

I stayed the night before with 5 bridesmaids and we were all so shocked and surprised by just how amazing the rooms were (Silverhorn and Olive). We honestly felt like royalty and were treated so well by the staff on the morning.

What tips or advice would you give to future couples?

It’s good to have ideas and concepts in mind, but be open in working with the venue and listen to what works well. There are always so many options and who else is better at providing great hints and tips than the staff who are involved with so many weddings?
