Royal Berkshire Wedding Good to Knows
How many people can we have at our wedding?

You can have 150 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast and up to 200 for your evening reception.

We do have a variety of different wedding spaces at Royal Berkshire so can also accommodate intimate ceremonies and receptions too.

When we hold a date in your wedding diary, how long do we have before we need to pay our deposit?

Once you have held a date in our wedding diary, we will send out all of your paperwork including your terms and conditions and booking information. We ask that a signed copy is returned to us along with your deposit payment within seven days in order to secure your wedding with us.

Will we be able to sample the menu before our wedding day?

Of course, we will invite you to a complimentary food tasting approximately six months prior to your big day! Should you wish to make a night of it and enjoy sampling extra wines then please do speak to our wedding team who can check our bedroom availability for you.

Do you have vegetarian and vegan menu options?

Absolutely! We have a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes for you to choose from, our team of chefs also love chatting to our couples about their own individual menu ideas too.

We can cater for all dietary requirements, we do just ask that we are made aware of all of your guests menu needs in advance of you big day so we can make sure we are fully prepared.

Will our wedding be the only one at Royal Berkshire on the day?

Yes absolutely - yours will be the only wedding taking place at Royal Berkshire on that day!

If you have booked our exclusive use package you and your guests will be the only people in the hotel and grounds, if you have a chosen a non-exclusive use wedding package there may be other hotel residents and private events happening in other separate areas of the hotel.

Can we get married outside at Royal Berkshire? And what happens if it rains?

Oh yes! Our Secret Walled Garden is the perfect romantic spot to host your civil ceremony outside, totally secluded from the main hotel its the perfect place for your guests to gather, enjoy the sunshine and watch you say your I dos!

Don't worry we will always have a wet weather indoor back up plan up our sleeves ready for you in case the sun doesn't want to come out to play.

How do we book our civil ceremony?

Contact the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead registry office on 01628 796422

How many bedrooms do you have at Royal Berkshire?

We have 66 bedrooms with 5 suites in total at Royal Berkshire (including one fully accessible bedroom). If you are hiring the hotel exclusively you and your guests will have access to all of the bedrooms.

For those on our non-exclusive wedding package your guests can book to stay with us at a preferential wedding rate. Speak to the wedding team who will be able to set up your very own wedding bedroom booking website!

What time can our guests check into their bedroom on our wedding day?

Check in for your wedding guests is from 3pm on your wedding day, this usually works perfectly for around the time your guests are mingling during your drinks reception.

Breakfast is included with all bedroom bookings, with check out by 11am.

Can we use our own suppliers?

We have a list of local recommended wedding suppliers who we love working with at Royal Berkshire, they have worked with us many times before so will be able to offer you plenty of advice and tips of what works really well at the hotel.

You are of course also more than welcome to use your own wedding suppliers, if they haven't worked at Royal Berkshire before we would just recommend bringing them for a visit to the hotel before your big day so they are nice and familiar with everything in advance.

We will run through all of your suppliers details with you during your final planning meeting with our wedding team.

Do we need to provide our suppliers with any refreshments?

You will usually find that suppliers such as photographers/ videographers and bands require food and drink to be provided as part of their contract with you.

We can provide them with separate supplier meals just ask the wedding team for more information.

What time can our suppliers set up from on our wedding day?

We will confirm all of your timings including set up and access times during your final planning meeting with the wedding team, we will always make sure everyone has plenty of time to make sure everything is ready and looking wedding perfect for your arrival.

What time can we party until on our wedding day?

Your music celebrations and your private bar will remain open until midnight, after which residents staying with us can enjoy a late night tipple in the main hotel bar before heading to bed.

You are able to extend the celebrations until 1am at an additional charge of £250.

Can you cut up our wedding cake for us and serve it to our guests in the evening?

Of course we can! We can also save some for you to enjoy at home after the celebrations (just let us know!)

Do you allow confetti?

Yes of course - it's all part of the fun of a fabulous wedding day, and provides a fantastic group photo too. We do just ask your guests throw bio-degradable confetti outside in the grounds.

Do you allow fireworks, sky lanterns and sparklers?

Due to the proximity of our neighbours and livestock, we only allow silent fireworks supplied by one of our nominated suppliers on our website. Please ask the wedding team for more information.

We love a pretty sparkler send off at the end of a wedding night, another great photo opportunity too!

What if it rains on our wedding day?

Don't worry, its often said that its good luck if it rains on your wedding day!

In any case we have plenty of indoor spaces for your guests to enjoy your drinks reception and for you to do your group photos, and if you are feeling brave we have plenty of umbrellas for you to use should you wish to head outside.

Should we take out wedding insurance?

Yes, we would always recommend doing this, it gives you peace of mind if the unexpected happens.

Can we bring in our own drinks?

All beverages are supplied by us, we have a really experienced bar team who are able to source most requests if we don't already stock what you have in mind. They are also really good at creating unique wedding day cocktails which are great for drinks receptions and when evening guests arrive!

Do you have any restrictions around lighting candles?

In order to keep all of our guests and our precious buildings safe we operate a strict no naked flame/ candle policy throughout our hotel. We would however love for you to bring in as many battery operated candles as you so wish and we can also advise you of some of the lovely places wedding suppliers can hang strings of fairy lights which can look magical as the evening draws in.

Is there parking available and can our guests leave their car overnight?

Yes - we have 150 parking spaces including 2 electric charging points, as well as access for guests to be dropped off right by our front door.

Guests are more than welcome to leave their car overnight we just asked that they collect their car by midday the following day.

Can we drop our wedding items (favours, name cards and table plans etc.) off to you before our big day?

Sure! Just make sure everything is clearly labelled with your names and wedding date.

Can our dog come to our wedding?

We love it when four pawed wedding guests share the day with you too! We just ask they are taken home or put with a dog sitter during your wedding breakfast and evening reception for food hygiene reasons.

Who will run and look after us on our wedding day?

Our Royal Berkshire wedding team will plan and co-ordinate your wedding right up until the day itself, you will then be handed over to our Food and Beverage manager who will be right by your side throughout the day.

We will introduce you to the Food and Beverage manager a few weeks before your wedding day so you know who will be looking after you and so you recognise their friendly face!

We also recommend hiring a toastmaster for your big day as they can really help ensure your day runs smoothly and that your guests are always in the right place.
