- How many people can we have at our wedding?
We have a variety of different spaces at The Manor House and can host elopement weddings for just the two of you, all the way up 120 guests for a wedding breakfast (and up to 140 for your evening party!)
The Manor House can be hired on an exclusive basis too - meaning that the whole hotel is all yours, you can be the real Lord and Lady of The Manor for the day! Plus with our exclusive use package you can also look at putting up your very own marquee in our grounds, allowing you to invite many more guests (additional charges apply).
- When we hold a date in your wedding diary, how long do we have before we need to pay our deposit?
Once you have held a date in our wedding diary, we will send out your booking confirmation pack which will include your terms and conditions. You will then have 7 days to return that back to us along with your deposit payment in order to confirm your date with us. Plenty of time to speak to the registry office or your local church to reserve the date with them too
- Will we be able to sample the menu before our wedding day?
Yes, absolutely! You will be invited to a complimentary menu tasting so you can sample our menus, chat to our team of chefs and experience the first class service you can expect from The Manor House team. We also encourage you to book a room for the night so you can enjoy sampling the wines and of course enjoy a night away too.
You are welcome to invite additional guests to join you at your food tasting event, a small fee will apply.
- Do you have vegetarian and vegan menu options to choose from?
Yes! We have a whole host of different menus to choose from and our award winning team of chefs love to work with couples to create new menus too.
We can also cater for any dietary requirements too. We do just ask you make us aware of any guests who may need a tweak to their menu in advance of your big day so we can be fully prepared.
- Will our wedding be the only one at The Manor House on the day?
Most definitely! We only host one wedding per day, and if you hire the hotel on an exclusive use basis, you and your guests will be the only people in the hotel on your wedding day entirely.
If you are getting married with us on a non-exclusive basis we will have other hotel guests and may also have private events going on in other parts of the hotel.
- Can I get married outside at The Manor House? And what happens if it rains?
Yes, our outdoor wedding pavilion sits on our front lawn overlooking the house with the Bybrook river babbling away in the background. A truly stunning stage to say your vows...
We will always have a indoor wet weather plan up our sleeve just in case the rain does make an appearance.
- How do we book our civil ceremony? Do you have any local churches?
The Chippenham Registry Office are the licensed registrars for The Manor House, they can be contacted on 03000 034570 or firstname.lastname@example.org
We are very lucky to have a stunning historic church in our village. St Andrews Church which is part of the Bybrook Ministry they can be contacted on 01249 782704 (working hours are: Monday, Wednesday & Friday 10.00am- 2.00pm)
- How many bedrooms do you have at The Manor House?
We have 50 bedrooms in total, a number of these rooms are dog friendly too! If you are hiring The Manor House on an exclusive use basis you will have access to using all 50 bedrooms
Breakfast is included with all bedroom bookings
The Manor House has lots of private dining options too, including space in The Castle Inn pub in the village of Castle Combe allowing you to enjoy some early family dinner celebrations the night before
- What time can our guests check into their bedrooms on our wedding day?
Check in to bedrooms is from 3pm. We try to prioritise some of the wedding guests bedrooms, just let our wedding team know and we'll try our best to get these ready a little bit earlier for you.
- Can I stay the night before and get ready at The Manor House in the morning?
Of course! We have some perfect bedrooms which are big enough for a group of you all to get ready in together. All of our bedrooms include breakfast and if you would prefer we can bring breakfast to your getting ready room so you can spend as much time as possible being fully pampered by your hair and make up team!
We can also arrange for an array of beauty treatments to be carried out in your bedroom during your stay, a great choice for relaxing and feeling totally pampered the night before. Speak to the wedding team for more information.
If you are staying the night before with your family, we have the perfect private dining spot to host you all together - The Castle Inn, whichi s our very own pub in the village, as well as various more formal dining options in the hotel too.
- Can we use our own wedding suppliers?
We have a great list of fantastic recommended wedding suppliers who we love to work with, they know The Manor House really well and can shower you with ideas of what they have done at the hotel before!
Should you have your own suppliers that you wish to use, that is also fine too. If they have never worked at The Manor House before then we would suggest you bringing them for a look around before your big day so they are familiar everything, making it as smooth as possible when they set up on the day.
- Do we need to provide our suppliers with any refreshments?
Check your contract/ agreement with your suppliers, often photographers and bands require a meal and drinks to be provided. We have a supplier meal option which we can offer which is from £10.75
- What time can our suppliers set up on our wedding day?
Usually from 8am so that they have plenty of time to get everything ready and looking pretty for you.
*If you are using the Bybrook this will be from 11am once the main hotel breakfast has finished
- What time can we party until on our wedding day?
Normally the music and main wedding bar will finish and close at midnight, however if you are hiring The Manor House on an exclusive use basis you will have until 1am.
The hotel bar will remain open to residents staying with us should they require a tipple before bed.
- Can you cut up our wedding cake for us and service it to our guests in the evening?
Of course we can! Just chat to our wedding team during your planning meeting so we know how much cake to cut up for you, and also what flavours your guests can expect so we can advise them if asked
- Do you allow confetti?
We love confetti, its looks so pretty and creates an amazing photo opportunity! We do just ask your guests throw biodegradable confetti and that it is thrown outside in the grounds.
- Do you allow fireworks, sky lanterns or sparklers?
Due to lots of local livestock and a host of neighbours who live close by, fireworks and sky lanterns are not permitted.
However we love how pretty a sparkler send off outside the front of the hotel can be at the end of the night. It also creates an great photo opportunity too.
- What if it rains on our wedding day?
We have LOTS of lovely indoor spaces so even if its pouring with rain on your wedding day there is still plenty of warm cosy space for your guests to mingle!
Our recommended photographers have a whole wealth of experience of The Manor House is all sorts of weathers so can create some really amazing shots even under a white umbrella (which we have lots of for you to use!).
Don't forget we also have plenty of golf buggy's available to move you both around our grounds too.
- Should we take out wedding insurance?
Yes! This is always something we recommend you do, it is there as peace of mind in case the unexpected happens! There are plenty of policies to choose from online depending on the level of cover you wish to take out.
- Can we bring our own drinks for the wedding day?
All food and drink is provided from us at The Manor House, sadly corkage isn't permitted. We have a great bar team who are able to source most things so please do let us know if you have any special requests.
Our hotel bar also has over 100 different types of gins to choose from, and our bar team are masters at creating special wedding day cocktails too.
- Are there any restrictions over lighting candles?
You can't beat a candle twinkle especially as the evening draws in! We do just ask that your candles are held in a sturdy holder, and if you are lining your aisle with candles that they are in enclosed lanterns, just to be safe.
- Is car parking available to my wedding guests? And can they leave their car overnight?
We have plenty of car parking space for all of your guests, and guests are welcome to leave their car overnight we do just asked they are collected by midday the following day.
There are also electric charging points in our car park too
- Can we drop our weddings items (favours, name cards, table plans etc.) off to you the day before?
Of course! Please make sure everything is clearly labelled with your names and wedding date, and we will store everything for you so you have less to worry about bringing on the actual day itself. Please remember everything is left at your own risk
- Can our dog come and celebrate with us too?
We love it when four pawed guests are part of all the celebrations too! We are very dog and pet friendly and have plenty of grounds for your pooch to enjoy too.

- Who will run and look after us on our wedding day?
Our wedding team will be with you every step of the way during all of the planning, and then on the day itself one of our banqueting managers will be by your side making sure everything runs smoothly.
We will have a detailed planning meeting with you both nearer the time where we will run through all of the details of the day and introduce you to your banqueting manager then.
We always highly advise hiring a toastmaster for your big day, they are great at keeping everything and everyone moving in the right places at the right time on the day
- Do you have any garden games we can use during our drinks reception?
We have giant jenga, croquet and giant chess available for your guests to use during your drinks reception on our front lawn. Just let our wedding team know if you would like us to leave them out ready for you.
